Espresso coffee - beans and ground

When it comes to the beans used for espresso, many producers choose a blend of Arabica and Robusta. Arabica beans contribute a smooth, delicate flavour and acidity, while Robusta provides body and a stronger coffee flavour. To create the deep, rich flavour of espresso, the beans are usually roasted darker than for other types of coffee. This gives a more intense flavour profile and brings out the natural oils of the beans.

In terms of quantity, espresso can be brewed as a single or double shot. A single shot is usually 30 ml of espresso, while a double shot is 60 ml. Depending on your preferences and the specific machine you are using, these quantities may vary slightly. Finally, when it comes to serving, espresso is traditionally served in a small cup, called an espresso cup, which retains heat well. Some choose to enjoy it as it is, while others add sugar, milk or other additives to customise the flavour.
